Rehabilitation Services
-
Chiropractic rehabilitation treats various medical conditions in a patient-specific way. It involves multiple techniques, from functional stretching to cardiovascular conditioning to balance and strength training (much like traditional physical therapy).
-
~ It’s proven that active rehabilitative care is far more effective than more passive traditional chiropractic methods alone
~ The patient is an active part of the process
~ Treatment is always based on the needs and goals of the patient
- The patient’s end goal of treatment is based on the demands of their daily lives and their lifestyle goals
Unlike Dr. Moreland, many chiropractors perform the same service with all their patients every time. The patient depends on the doctor to “fix” them; there is no progression towards a wellness lifestyle. A Board-certified rehab Diplomate* is trained to address the following:
~ Movement
~ Fitness
~ Function
~ Posture
-
The American Chiropractic Rehabilitation Board was created in 1995, providing the latest treatments and evidence-based rehabilitation techniques to help patients attain their best health and mobility.
After an injury or condition, it’s essential to receive proper treatment from a specialized professional who is up-to-date on all his/her/their training, certifications, and continuing education.
To ensure chiropractors provide this type of instruction, this particular Board created a specialized certification process to educate and constantly improve and train qualified chiropractors to properly:
~ Discover the underlying cause of the issue and treat them accordingly
~ Empower the patient to continue treatment with at-home exercises
This treatment has been proven to help patients feel better and live more active lives.
-
~ High-tech techniques (examples)
- Vibration therapy - to allow a patient with osteopenia or osteoporosis to strengthen muscles and build bone density when they have difficulty or are entirely unable to perform traditional exercises
~ Low-tech techniques – this is what Dr. Moreland primarily focuses on so patients can duplicate their rehab routine at home after they are released from care. (examples)
- Floor exercises
- Physioballs
- Resistance Bands or tubes
- Foam rollers
Dr. Moreland firmly believes that patients should perform rehabilitative exercises at home in addition to an in-office setting, which is why he uses many low-tech rehabilitation techniques with most of his patients.
-
Dr. Moreland emphasizes the proper performance of a rehabilitative plan, and several local medical doctors and orthopedic surgeons refer their patients to see him instead of sending them to a traditional physical therapy clinic.
With limits placed on treatments by the primary health insurers, having one place for all of your chiropractic and rehabilitative needs will save you time and minimize your co-pays and other out-of-pocket expenses.
Please discuss this alternative with your primary care physician or specialist to receive a referral to our facility for your physiotherapeutic needs.
-
Provides patients with access to several therapy options in one office - by a doctor who is both trained and certified in each therapy option - providing you with the optimal chance of a faster recovery.
